Snow, slush and slurry
It's like watching the seasons change in fast forward when it snows in New York. It's magical, (relatively) warm and white for a few hours. Everything goes quiet. Then there's the crunch-crunch, which gives way to a squeak-squeak, followed closely by a squelch-squelch and, finally, a slap-slap. The world turns grey then brown then black; dries out and waits for the next white-out.

Vent
Fuck the police. For giving me a $60 fine. For walking through an open door at a train station. For me being stupid enough to give the 'officer' some of my not-even-tried-or-tested New York attitude. I guess I just failed, right?. Anyway, I am hereby donating my $60 so-called 'fine' to the Get the NYPD Back on the Streets Doing Real Work Like Catching Criminals, Terrorists and Spitters campaign (otherwise known as GNYPDBOTSDRWLCCTAS). I encourage you all to put your good money towards this worthy cause. Hey, if I weren't white, I'd swear I'd just had one of those 'pick on the black dude' law enforcement experiences.

Half time, full feed
T'was Superbowl weekend,
and all through the house,
the meat was burning,
but it wasn't a mouse.
It was pig, chicken, cow, and shellfish.
Here's a couple of my personal favourites, to be enjoyed only while drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon.
This is what's known as a 'baloney pony'. Sliced into 2 inch wide cross sections and eaten in as few bites as possible, it strongly resembles roadkill. Tasty though.
The famous White Castle burger. One mouthful for a man, 4 dainty bites for a girl. You can order them by the crate (pictured) when you just can't be bothered to get off the couch. Again, a delicious alternative to the sausage sizzle or cabanossi & Coon cheese combo. My Australian contribution of a plate of fairy bread was greeted with mild amusement, but how could I possibly compete with a miniburger? Philistines.

Burlesque and a banjo
Saturday afternoon is all about drawing naked burlesque dancers, while accompanied by a Vaudeville-style 2 man band. That's the Dr. Sketchy formula, anyway. This is Lola, one of the most amazing live models I've ever had the pleasure of drawing - just like one of Gauguin's Tahitian beauties, but with nipple tassles! I spent half the class wondering if there was a word for those in English... anyone?
